It is so sad. I was going through my friends list today and it seems the majority of people have also stopped writing. :( How awful. Is blogging becoming a lost art?

Seems that way. Twitter has apparently completely taken over, heh. (Yes, I do have a Twitter, and yes, it does cut into my will to blog. But I do my best to NOT just abandon it.) By the way, I just want you to know that I do read, and I'm sorry I never comment. Also, I am using this icon specifically because I know of your love for cats. Kitteh Obsession Solidarity. ^_^

Twitter and facebook while both great networking tools are so captivating and addictive with their short term attention captivating mini games and applications that people don't see to have the 'time' to sit and write anymore.

Been guilty of it myself hence why I am making a concerted effort to write here more often now, even if I do feel like I'm just using it to moan a lot of the time at least I am writing heh.

We havent all abandoned you yet hun!! xx

In my case, this term has been kicking my ass, and when it isn't, I jump on socialness. I can't be up late night this term, and that's my usual posting time :/. Hopefully I'll get a chance soon to do more than just lurk and comment.

Agreed. It is very sad. Been posting writing to my novel filter, and other things and just getting crickets. :/ Makes me less likely to post often, to be honest.

I'm still here. I still read.

I know exactly what you mean hun, I'm beginning to think the same. *huge, huge hugs & endless love* : ( ♥ I first noticed that it was getting quieter on LJ around the middle of last year and it's only gotten worse this year. I really hope this pattern will change soon. : /

I think part of it is also that many, many people chose to leave LJ around the time that the site was making unjust decisions and seriously cutting into our privacy and comfort zones here on the site.. DreamWidth gained about 20,000 people from LJ in a month. So some people have stopped writing here, but I don't think it's going to die out... too many people are connected to their online circle of friends and when in life do we get the ability to talk so freely, and at length, of what we go through and what we think and feel?

Yes! It makes me so sad. I actually just started writing over here again... on a regular basis! Only two of my friends update frequently. It's sad for me. Blogging is mostly for myself though... it feels good to get it out of me. Still, I miss the "networking" aspect of it over here. I feel like I need to belong somewhere. If facebook had a blogging section, that would be cool... they do have 'notes' though. ha. But then, I wouldn't share such personal stuff on facebook since most of my family are on there. And Twitter... ewww... I find it completely pointless! I have a Twitter account, but I don't update it at all anymore. Who cares about one liners? haha. That's basically what facebook is, with the status updates, but it's a bit funner for me. ha.

I think for me, I just found myself writing the same stuff all the time. My life these days is fairly routine. I check LJ daily, but not many posts appear from day to day. It is sad, in a way.

Facebook made it easier to communicate, I guess, although the quality is definitely lower than posts on LJ are.

It's sad. Livejournal used to be the place to be. It seems everyone has left :(

Some of that teenage angst decided to hide. And now, as adults, Life has us wrecked. But I'm thinking of making a come back. Where do you blog, regularly? I am looking for a venue.
