adults that critisize t.v. shows geared toward teenagers really need to get a life. i'm sorry, but not EVERYTHING produced for a teen's pleasure is 'crap' and 'uneducational.' dawson's creek. contains REAL LIFE situations in which i've often been faced, concrete characters with inspiring personalities, great storylines (not to mention great music. i think it's great new artists can take advantage of the advertizing; i've grown to like many of the artists that appear, heh heh)... i don't see anything wrong with these shows. felicity is another prime example. i praise my aunt; she loves the show, and thinks it provides handly life-lessons, big and small. okay, sometimes the characters are a little dramatic, but who doesn't have friends like that in real life? they ARE educational. no, no one can really 'teach you a lesson' (in my opinion, ya gotta learn it the hard way to really LEARN it), but at least they provide a little insight to situations and give different perspectives on things. perception is so important in life, in teeangersand adults. you really have to take into consideration that there is never one perspective, never two, but many. shows like these reveal these different perceptions, and differnet ideas to solve complex or simplistic problems. i think the producers and writers do a great job, and i really hope they don't listen to the older generation who simply say, "it's crap," and haven't taken a deeper look into the show's reality.

i really don't believe people choose to be gay. i really don't. i know a lot of people do believe this, but i don't. why-- why on EARTH-- would someone, especially today, choose to be gay when society is so high on gay-bashing: making homosexuality taboo, parents kicking children out of the home because they're gay, the whole gay pride parade getting out of hand every single year... when you think about it, in the BC and AC eras, rome specifically-- half the nation was gay. and it was FINE. you wonder how its corruption has evolved into such a sham today. it wasn't shunned until centuries later. it's been scientifically proven, supposedly, that people are born gay. it's in their genetic hormone makeup. i think it's simply transition. i think it's based upon a long period of time... as you grow, you discover the sex with which you're most compatible. sounds stupid? not really. i mean, most people don't know they're gay until they become teenagers-- some even later. i actually believe that your body will produce more of the opposite sex hormone (you're born with) if you're attracted to the same sex at some point in your life. most lesbians are called "butch" because... well, that's what happens. (some transitions are helped along by medication, yes.) i also learned that lesbians have a longer index finger than middle finger because of some kind of hormone reaction. i dunno if i believe this. anyway, my point is, i don't understand why people can't accept homosexuals... and to most homophobics: NO, THEY DON'T CHOOSE TO BE GAY. you can't force yourself to be attracted to someone just because you WANT to be attracted to them. that's kind of irrational. my opinion. period.

just for the record, when other people do this kinda stuff, i don't think they're losers. but when i do it-- well, that's a different story:

confessions from a loser-teen

+ i save every single e-mail i receive from friends, and i also save my own replies. i print them later on. imagine how large my mailboxes are in eudora.
+ i have about 30-40 boxes in my room. yes, my life is divided into boxes. this is going to be a new section on my site soon. i'm gonna tell ya what type a box is it, and what's in it.
+ i cannot get rid of clothes. i'm an 80's child, and i grew up with those "leggings" (those tight-ass pants, you know what i'm talking about), and i can't even get rid of those! i feel like i'm throwing a part of myself out. i just can't bring myself to throw out old clothes.
+ i cried when i lost all my ICQ chats. i really did. i just freaked out. i had about 50 or 60 saved, and i just flipped. it was the first time in 4 years i had completely lost ICQ. i now back them up every week. i'm dead serious.
+ i never go for check-ups because i'm terrified i'm going to have to step on that scale and my life will be over.
+ i own a stamp collection.
+i still own this "crayola fashion designer kit" i got for my 7th birthday. i loved designing clothes and things, and i can't bring myself to get rid of it.
+ i have over five dozen kool-aid packages. yes, i save them.

well, that was fun, wasn't it? i have SO much more to add to this list, but we'll save that for later.
